Psalm 23:4-6 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I fear no evil, for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You have anointed my head with oil;
My cup overflows.
6 Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life,
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Even in the darkest hour God is there beside us.
He is working on our behalf and even parading up before the enemy that is trying to intimidate us. We may think: why would God set a table before my enemy?
Well this is an act of confidence and a declaration of His goodness and protection.
He would not do such a thing if He was not prepared for the consequences or possible retaliation of the enemy. You see when you are in the place before you enemy and He sits you at a table., you have just been placed in a safe place.
The table is a place of provision and protection!
This is a place of provision and protection. He is not only leading and guiding you, but also, He is parading you before the enemy saying look at this one, they are mine. Look at what I do for them. When he does this blessings and prosperity overflow.
- Has there been a time God has tried to sit you at a table and you refused to sit before your enemy?
- Has there been a time when you needed to yield to the leading of God into the valley and allow His light to shine?
- If you answered yes to either of these:
- Ask God to forgive you.
- Then ask father God to restore your place of favor in that area of your life.
